A new study has thrown Scottsdale a bone.
Realtor.com has ranked Scottsdale No. 4 in the nation on a new list of the best housing markets for owning a dog.
The real-estate website looked at the number of households that own dogs, dog parks, dog-friendly restaurants, pet food stores and more data to come up with a list of the top 10 U.S. cities for having a dog.
The survey adds to a growing body of evidence that Scottsdale is one of the most pet-friendly cities in the U.S. Two years ago, WalletHub ranked Scottsdale as the third best city in the country for pet lovers.
Realtor.com listed four reasons that Scottsdale is so good to its four-footed friends:
“Check out Louis Vuitton knockoff dog toys, plush sports car–shaped dog beds, and rhinestone collars at Oh My Dog” in Scottsdale, the ranking said.
Charlotte, N.C., ranked No. 1 as the best housing market for dog owners. It has five dog-friendly beaches.
Temecula, Calif., is No. 2, partly because 85 percent of households there own a dog. No. 3 is Las Vegas, a city that has its own pet-themed radio show “Vegas Rock Dog Radio."
Ranking below Scottsdale in order: San Diego; Austin, Texas; Tampa; Fort Collins, Colo.; Atlanta; and Seattle at No. 10.
