An Ahwatukee mansion with more than 14,000 square feet, seven bedrooms and 11-bathrooms has sold for $3.56 million. The price is likely a record for the Phoenix suburb.
The three-story posh place includes a “Harry Potter” style library with a weather sensing retractable glass pyramid, a game room, exercise room and guest house. The one-acre property is located right next to the South Mountain Park Preserve.
An Arizona group called Wonder Rift RE paid cash for the home. Attorney Frederick Taylor is listed as the agent for Wonder Rift.
A Delaware limited liability corporation called Fishscale sold the home it paid $3.25 million for in 2011.
“This property marks a new era for Ahwatukee’s luxury home market. It shows there are luxury buyers who will pay for a quality home,” said Oriana Lehman Wood of Russ Lyon Sotheby’s. She had the listing for the mansion with Jacqueline Miller.
The home has been listed for sale on and off for the past three years. A previous listing price was more than $6.4 million.
Property records show this is the highest-priced home sale in Ahwatukee since at least 1995.
